As part of this year’s campaign to showcase wonderful community initiatives across Canada, this month, Compassionate Community Care is sharing with you an exciting example of senior-youth involvement. A great way to get young people engaged in the community is to motivate them to volunteer with seniors as part of a Youth-Senior Gift Exchange. What does that mean? Weekly visits from a youth volunteer to listen, learn, and befriend a senior in the community for them to listen, learn and provide practical skills to assist the elderly they visit.
