Training Session for Volunteers To Support Seniors and Vulnerable People and Provide Patient Advocacy

  • St Mary's Refuge 206 Barry Road Madoc, ON, K0K 2K0 Canada (map)

Many people, especially vulnerable seniors in our community, are isolated, lonely, and without help. Here is an opportunity to support your neighbours and remind them they are valued whether they live at home or in an institutional setting. This is a great opportunity for students who need high school volunteer hours as well as those who are going into a helping profession or the charity sector.

You will be trained to:

  • Recognize possible issues vulnerable people may have and support them in getting the help they may need to live fuller lives.

  • Be an effective advocate for vulnerable seniors, as well as people with illness or disabilities.

  • Work with us to provide visits and support to those in your area. A certificate will be provided on completion.

July 5th & 6th 2023 9 am to 5 pm each day. Lunch provided.

St. Mary’s Refuge, 206 Barry Road, Madoc.

Free for volunteers. Suggested donation $60 for those seeking training for professional development. Overnight accommodation available on site. Suggested donation $100. Pre-registration required.
