Mark Baluyut, RN, spoke on the clinical and practical standards of care, sharing tips that seniors and their loved ones should be aware of in order to protect against elder abuse. When a patient is admitted to the hospital with “failure to cope” or worse, and they are neglected, what went wrong? How can we prevent this from happening?

Kasia Capisciolto, RN, is a mother and concerned advocate for the elderly and vulnerable. She shared her experience working at a facility that was in need of assistance from the government in order to provide proper care for its residents. What do seniors need to watch out for?
